Plant maintenance technician
Summary / Purpose
The Facilities Maintenance Technician position is responsible for performing various building maintenance tasks and processes to support the achievement of the site’s business goals and objectives.
Essential functions
- Perform a diverse set of tasks to maintain the plant and some plant facility equipment
- Troubleshooting, testing and repairing necessary plumbing activities
- Possess technical skills, ethical conduct, demonstrate initiative, be results-oriented.
- Provide emergency / unscheduled building maintenance
- Observe safety rules and maintain clean and orderly work areas
- Ensures grounds are free of litter and debris
- Responsible for various general maintenance, interior / exterior painting, plumbing, roofing, tiling, heating / cooling and lawn maintenance projects
- Maintains a safe and clean job site.

- Indoor / outdoor work
- Exposure to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibrations.
- High noise levels
- Work outdoors with exposure to bad weather conditions at times

Physical demands
- Ability to lift and transport objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Bend, lift, stretch and reach regularly below the waist and above the head
- Occasionally push and pull wheeled carts.
- Engage in full manual dexterity in hands and wrists
- Walk around the establishment frequently; facilities are over a quarter of a mile in length
- Ability to climb ladders safely and without limitation
- Dexterity in eye / hand coordination, manual (grasp, pinch, hold, grasp) and wrist movement (repetitive flexion / rotation)
- Must be able to stand / walk for up to 10-12 hours

Qualifications
- High school diploma preferred.
- Maintenance related certifications are desirable but not required.
- Minimum of 2 yearsâ ???? experience in maintenance of installations.
- Working knowledge of plumbing, heating / cooling, water and building construction.
- Must have a valid driver’s license.
- Experience with a scissor lift, boom and Hi-Lo system is required with the ability to pass / obtain the required operating license
- Be mechanically inclined, able to work in a team or individually with minimal supervision, and be able to communicate effectively

- 10 hour shifts on Monday â ⬠â Thursday
- Fridays are reserved for occupational therapy if necessary
